Then I guess these folks need to decide if they wanna really be American or not. Because that whole ‘my religion is the only religion and I’ll kill you over it’ thing is not representative of the good American values like those represented by Lady Liberty. Your religion tell you what you can or can’t do , not what other folks can or can’t do. Seems like there need to be more Quran burnings until these folks figure that out. And so as not to be discriminatory we can burn the Torah and the Bible alongside it.

I say we make a group project up in city centers all across the country, get a copy of

the Quran(Islam), the Bible(Christianity), the Torah(Judaism), the Vedas(Hinduism), the Tripitaka(Buddhism), the Adi Granth(Sikhism), the Kitab-i-Aqdas(Baha'i-ism), the Agamas(Jainism), the Avesta(Zoroastrianism), the five Classics and four Books(Confucianism)

Slap all of them with bacon then burn them in a barrel. Record what happens next then sue accordingly. We need to castigate, shame, sue and prosecute people who refuse to uphold American laws and ideals especially when they're in positions of American government.

Nah you can’t use bacon , it’s too specific. You need a substance w a broader revulsion factor , like urine maybe?

I've got wolf piss to keep critters from my chickens. I just worry it would truly smell awful when we started to burn them

Doin a dab in the mustache just before barn work and doing a dab in the mustache just before spraying the wolf piss sounds about the same to me

They might not be as violent right now or care as much about book burnings, but there are definitely huge numbers of christians who believe this isn't really america if christianity isn't at the center of all of our values.

Sounds like a bogeyman fiction. The shit in this video actually happened and the attitudes from those Muslims is also real. But feel free to bring me some verifiable hard evidence and I’ll entertain your statement. But I don’t think you’re gonna find a video of some white granny threatening to kill someone and their family for burning a bible they bought 😂

This is just delusion. I live in the heart of christian conservative America. These people legitimately advocate for theocracy. You can drive down the road and see bumper stickers and license plates with the cross on the American flag. Youre just being obtuse. You replied to a comment that claimed that people want Christianity to be at the center of American values. Thats just a true statement and you called it a "boogeyman fiction." Insane

permalinkparentcontexthide replies (1)author-focusas-ofpreserve
[–][deleted]0 points3 weeks ago

Idgaf about their advocacy only their actions. If I burn the Bible are they gonna open themselves to prosecution or worse by trying to physically stop me? No.

Bro. Acknowledge that you replied to a comment that said there are Christians who want Christianity to be at the center of American values and you responded with "thats boogeyman fiction."

permalinkparentcontexthide replies (1)author-focusas-ofpreserve
[–][deleted]1 point3 weeks ago

Fuck yeah I did. Wanna know why? Because by his own admission the guy was saying his scenario hasn’t even occurred . ‘They might not be as violent right now…but’ I believe it was.

His made up scenario is clearly a fiction since it ain’t real , and it’s a bogeyman fiction because its goal is to make me afraid of something , in this case scary christians ooooooooo so scary 😱

Now go get your shinebox

You literally won't even acknowledge the point. Wow. Thats a head in the sand if Ive ever seen it

permalinkparentcontexthide replies (1)author-focusas-ofpreserve
[–][deleted]1 point2 weeks, 6 days ago

I mean I didn’t think something that obvious would need to be acknowledged . Yeah there are people of every religion who want their religion to be at the center of things. Did that clear it up for you? Is it acknowledged? Do you need me to acknowledge any other obvious things for you? The color of the sky perhaps?

It’s blue.

And if some bushy bearded militant Islam looking mfer wants to head to the Deep South and burn a Bible in front of the herd he would not only have my blessing but my support for his exercise of his free speech as well.

Google the christian group KKK ETPRODITORES.

And get therapy for your violent hatred of Americans. Or give us another example of "irony" that you can't see.

You can't be serious, right?

First of all, I explicitly said they aren't as violent currently and don't care as much about book burnings, so that was a pretty weird gotcha response to a point I never made.

Secondly, christianity is absolutely the dominant religious extremism in this country and you are just delusional if you're pretending that's not the case. There is no way you haven't heard of christian nationalism. My kid's school still gets people in trouble for things they deem "satanic" but they still have sign ups for good news camp and let the kids wear whatever christian symbols they want. Many, many, many christians today want us to live in a theocracy. As you said, their values do not align with the ideals of this country.

I didn't even think we disagreed. I thought I was just adding to your point. And yet here you are getting all butthurt over the notion that our brand of religious extremism could be part of the problem.

‘my religion is the only religion and I’ll kill you over it’ thing is not representative of the good American values

Unless of course you read any history.

Shocked/happy by the number of upvotes this has. In any other context, this would be downvoted into oblivion by the hive mind and some righteous hero mod would ban you. It’s good to see that differing opinions can exist here.

LOL. There are Christians that feel the exact same way about Christianity in this country. They put their God first, their country second, and their family after both of those. Abortion is outlawed in many states because of Christianity. The Ten Commandments are being put in every public class room in Louisiana, Arkansas, and Texas because of Christianity.

Remember, the Klu Klux Klan was a Christian organization, and racists like Charlie Kirk pushed Christianity as an American value.

So yeah, these Muslims are just as bad as the Christian’s conservatives who are pushing their own religion and get very angry if you burn an American flag.

permalinkparentcontexthide replies (1)author-focusas-ofpreserve
[–][deleted]2 points3 weeks ago

No one said you can’t get angry ; you just can’t get violent or interfere. And in the face of free speech no one is gonna give a shit about your motivations for getting violent or interfering. Seethe and Cope about it idk what else to tell you 🤷‍♂️

Our government arrested a veteran for burning an American flag based on executive order (not law, but just presidential decree) that had this interesting line:

the Attorney General shall vigorously prosecute those who violate our laws in ways that involve desecrating the American Flag, and may pursue litigation to clarify the scope of the First Amendment exceptions in this area.

So clearly conservatives disagree with you and don’t consider this free speech. Which is pretty hypocritical when it comes to their burning of the Quran.

So while I agree with you that in both cases it’s free speech. I disagree that it’s only the Muslims in this case that have an issue with free speech. All religious conservatives seem to have that problem.

permalinkparentcontexthide replies (1)author-focusas-ofpreserve
[–][deleted]4 points3 weeks ago

They arrested him for burning stuff in public iirc , don’t try to make it seem like they were charged w burning a flag and not starting a fire in a public place or something similar. But yes morons of all stripes use religion to keep themselves in power and dominate other morons. Also those folks in Dearborn weren’t even empowered by the State to do anything , as opposed to the stupid, but empowered , move to try and bully folks into not burning the flag in protest by the current administration.

permalinkparentcontexthide replies (1)as-of
[–]Rottimer0 points3 weeks ago

So burning a Quran in public would violate the same law, right? The U.S. is just choosing, with conservatives in power, to enforce those laws selectively. . .

permalinkparentcontexthide replies (1)author-focusas-ofpreserve
[–][deleted]2 points3 weeks ago

O yeah 100%. Ofc I never saw it actually catch fire though , did you? But yeah if they had burned it in public a cop would be well within the law to cite them for it.
