Hockey definitely has hysterical bullshit. Like this.
And in soccer I'd say something like this also qualifies.
Yeah I'm wondering how much hockey and soccer the person you're replying to has actually watched, because as a big time hockey and soccer fan I see a lot of this hysterical stuff happen pretty often in those sports too, like off the top of my head this NHL own goal compilation has some wildly hysterical stuff, and this legendary accidental trick half volley trick shot doink goal to win the game at the last second is one of my all-time favourite soccer memories. Both sports are extremely chaotic and hysterical just as much as football is so I'm not sure what the other person is talking about lol
I think they're specifically talking about weird stuff that happens as a rules technicality.
Yeah that's fair. In my opinion the legendary Mike Smith "butt goal" with the saved shot deflecting through the air and falling into his pants as he backed into his own net for an own goal (and an OT winner too) definitely counts as a hysterical rules technicality pretty similar to the moment today, which is why I think the person above is being a bit harsh saying hockey "never" has this hysterical stuff happen when we've definitely seen it does happen as shown in the examples we've posted...us hockey fans are very familiar with experiencing similar moments haha
