Not sarcasm at all - you’re asking the right questions. I actually applied more than stock with the Wraith but it was smooth and super thin. So...you have a contact problem. You may have bent or damaged that wonky lever mechanism the first time - explaining why it went on easy the next two times. I see a Hyper 212 in your future...
