You made them wrong then
Lol FR eat a 500mg brownie and get back to me about how edibles don't whoa i can see space.
I have. Doesn't do anything to me. Several oral drugs don't. I believe I lack one of the enzymes needed to process it or something, I've read that a certain percent of people don't have a key liver enzyme for processing a lot of drugs.
Very interesting, could you ingest a similar enzyme and achieve the high?
What if you sublingually induct decarboxylated THC?
Im sorry to have doubted you.
But now i have questions.
Fascinating!!
The next time you get the chance, you mind trying your edibles with a fish oil chaser(not as gross as it sounds) or "bulletproof" coffee.
My assumption is that it is the enzyme comes out to breakdown fats in general and that acts as the driver in breaking down the Cannabinoids.
Coconut MCT oil as well! Ty so much!
I heard something about grapefruit juice messing with your liver enzymes so maybe that would do it for me? Also what the other commenter said below probably has some merit, the few times I have felt something from edibles it has been from an edible that is mixed with butter/some sort of fat but even then its wayyyy less of an effect than a single joint. I have tried the sublingual tinctures and they work a little bit better, presumably because they don't go through the same first-pass metabolism through my liver.
Do you smoke weed regularly? I’ve heard if you’re a regular smoker edibles won’t affect you as much. I don’t know how true that is, but It seems to be the case for me at least. Edibles have zero effect on me, at most they just make me tired but never a high or even a buzz. If I want to feel the psychoactive effects I have to smoke.
I am a fairly regular smoker so I'm sure that has something to do with it at least but even when I didn't smoke a ton they never really knocked me on my ass like some people say they do. Some of the stories I hear from people on edibles make me like "wow I wish I could be that high" :(
Okay, so back of the envelope calculations here.
Let's take this recipe (plucked from Google and it was the first non-"diet" recipe) and make it weedy.
The recipe calls for 12 tablespoons of butter in a 9 ounce serving. That comes out to a 4 teaspoons per serving. That needs to have 500mg of THC in there. We're talking about putting 4.5 grams of THC into 3/4ths of a cup of butter.
Based on the prices at the dispensaries I was in this weekend, I can tell you that resin and shatter both have a concentration between 64% and 75%. We'll go with 70%. That means we'd need to put in about 6.5 grams of concentrate in to that aforementioned 3/4ths of a cup of butter.
The median street price for shatter was around $40/gram at these legal dispensaries. If we're in a prohibiting regime, add a 100% markup for the black market. This would be a $660 brownie recipe: $650 for the 7 ounces of concentrate (as concentrate was only sold in full grams at the dispensaries I saw) and $10 for the other ingredients.
Now, I don't know about you, but either you have some very generous friends or a shitton of disposable income.
Thats a decent recipe you have some things wrong there, but you messed up as soon as you assumed it would be "dispo live rosin".
If youre paying $40 a g for shatter, youre being overcharged. Even more so if youre not seeing price breaks when buying bulk.
Also a 200% mark up because "black market" is plain silly. Even street level has had to adapt their prices because of the overflow of dispensaries.
And finally, you can find 500mg and 1000mg brownies pretty regularly, at least out here, for about $50 and $80 respectively.
I don't make them, I live in a legal state captain assumptions.
