All the young redditors dnt care as they probably use the official reddit app anyways. So mainly a lot of us older users are probably going to leave, but the next Gen will take over the comments sections, and reddit will go on, albiet a bit dumber... IMO
Its really hard to suggest that reddit could get much dumber. Half the front page is propaganda and often just lies. Has been for a very long time.

You're also going to have to define woke as it seems being respectful of others is considered "woke" by many. Honestly saying something is woke is about as meaningful as calling everyone you disagree with a fascist or nazi. Socialist liberal is a hilarious oxymoron.
The commonality they share is the extension of rights to all people, and even that is only just so. Socialism applies to all comers without exception, whereas Liberalism requires a set of terms and conditions to be met before rights are granted.
Aside from that marginal overlap, they are about as different from one another as they both are from any other ideology on the right.

fox news is overwhelmingly the most watched cable news network, and it's significantly the most viewed conservative network. it has represented the right for like three decades.
right now, Fox News has 9 of the top 10 most-watched cable news shows. Maddow is #10. Then Fox has #11 through #14, with MSNBC at 15 for Lawrence O'Donnell.
To compare, I just ran a quick search on Politifact and Maddow's most recent "false" statement was in 2021 while Tuck Tuck the Clown has been "pants on fire" twice and one "false"... and he has only 1 "mostly true"... out of 28 checks. and 9 total "pants on fire"...
but don't act like Newsmax - or whatever you get your conservative news from - is better, in terms of truthfulness. those tend to be more right, .

funny, because when I joined the site back in 2011 (when it was supposedly "smarter") it openly harbored some of the most racist, creepy, downright mean, and pedophillic shit I've seen on a major forum.
The general atmosphere of this place from ~2013-2015 was also incredibly racist, and peak gamergate, FPH, and related subs made it a nightmare to be almost anywhere on this site. There's certainly dogshit places here these days, but they're all pretty well isolated at this point.
I'll take "stupid" over actively awful anyday.
It was not as bad as you describe. There were elements of bad stuff, but on the whole this is exaggerated.

The general atmosphere of the site was much more hostile for anyone not in a particular demographic, but most of y’all were a part of it, so I’m not really surprised that you didn’t notice.
There were dedicated subs for racism. Regular front page endorsements of gamergate shit, rampant sexism, rampant casual and overt racism, and a general disdain towards anyone that didn’t belong to the young adult white male, internet-savvy/techy base that this site was founded on.
And that’s not even getting into all of the jailbait/violentacrez shit.
