There are tools that will edit all your editable posts to gibberish. They store the edits. This poisons the well as far as getting scrapped for AI building. A big thing spez was trying to make money from.
Is there a way to download all my comment history. Among the bollocks I spew, I also participate in lots of hobby subs, and in the 10+ years I've been here, I must have said something useful. I'd like to host them off site, then edit my comments to link to them.
Just use dated google/bing searches to find older comment URLs and funnel them into the plugin to shred?
The trick is to make the comments useless vs. make the edit obvious. Replacing your comments with a single period is too easy to undo/explainable as a data security measure.
Meanwhile if reddit is going to force you to say a specific thing and you cannot edit your words to say something different that would be huge.
Yeah, some sort of bot that replaces 5 letters of a word with 5 random letters would probably go a bit further than just nuking your post and replacing it with something completely different.
One common strategy that you could incorporate is to use ChatGPT to write a comment which is nonsensical to the topic, then substitute it for the original comment. While the comment still appears to be valid, it no longer applies to the subject of your forum.

A right is a right, even if there are tools that facilitate the use of something.
If a city or state implements a law giving people on wheelchair the right to have ramps on public spaces, it does not matter that you can have other practical ways to climb stairs.
