You can bet the UK is doing it, there's no way in hell their three letter people wouldn't, just like the US is, but Americans they're just being loud about it.
Where is the UK silently getting DNA and iris scans from every foreign arrival? Sneaking into every hotel room?
Both things can be correct, sadly the UK is heading in a very authoritarian/dystopian direction as well
