I hate what a shit storm everything is turning out to be. I hate seeing them worry about ground clutter or racetracks instead of oh I dunno, stability and core tech. Yeah I get it man, not everyone works on everything I know this, but have you been around long enough to watch the focus shift? Go watch some of those old 'around the verse' episodes and you'll see what I mean.

I'm tired, a lot of people are just tired of waiting. It's come a long way, it will probably continue to do so, but servers running at like 2fps and constant crashes, falling through floors, ships exploding just because, no other solar systems, no reclaimer salvage, no push pull ffs, no zero g movement, panels, active components, security, gravity/power control, ship permission, IN GAME ORGS... That list can go on. It gets tiring.

Oh also, where is theaters of war? Why ac 2.0 and no ToW that was shown in like 2019/2018? Do you see where I'm going with this? So many things promised so long ago (anvil F7A skin still can't be used) and what are we getting videos about? Arena commander... Whooptie fuckin do.

I've been around since the only thing you could do was look at your ships in a hangar. Wasn't even multiple hangars, just one. I'm well aware of the progress and focus shift of this game.

But, here's what your missing: shit changes. This game has the single most ambitious goal of any game ever made. Elite Dangerous has an entire galaxy, except that every single planet is procedurally generated outside of the main cluster, and that's the closest second to this game. Keep in mind this entire game is manually crafted. Have you seen the inside of a ship when it's damaged? Or when you get the exterior armor plate torn off? You can see all the wiring, tubes, frames, structural metals, etc. It's all gotta be made.

Also, the same people dealing with ground clutter, are not the same people who design and manage the core tech or stability. Ones a designer, ones a software engineer. Very different jobs, neither can do the other's job. The people making the Polaris, are not capable of making servers run better. The people working to make the servers run better, are not capable of making ships. See where this is going?

The only shit storm that seems to be going on here is you losing your mind. I pledged to this game back in 2012. Since then I've spent ~1000 USD. I've seen people spend over $10,000 in the span of a single calendar year, so I dont have any bias in case you were going to try and use that as a scapegoat.

You're expecting a fully complete game, when the game hasn't even left Alpha yet because it's overall goals are so insanely massive, some of the technology for it may not even exist yet. You're used to a AAA game like GTA V taking 7 years to develop. Star Citizen is like a SSS game instead, it'll take 20 years to make and probably keep going long after because of the sheer amount of work.

You just have the complete wrong mindset about something of this degree. But hey, if you don't like it, don't let the door hit you on the ass on the way out. Nobody cares whether you stay or not.

Son I've been here since 1.3, I'm not a newcomer who has lost his patience after a week. I'm losing my patience in a span of almost 10 years. I'm not a hater, I'm discouraged and the luster has simply worn off. I own an Idris, I support the project, just tired. And yeah I know team A doesn't do team B's job, I even stated that, no reason why you needed to attempt to explain that to me.

So go fuck yourself, kindly. People are allowed to lose patience, they are allowed to be let down and not 100% sucking the CR cock. Not everyone is part of the hive mind.

You bring up fair points, and people don't really have much of a defense besides "this game is so ambitious though!" It is entirely reasonable to be upset and frustrated with

is entirely reasonable. They have been talking about doing the same shit for years. They've missed so many deadlines that they stopped giving deadlines, started missing them again, and stopped giving them again. The level of incompetence and inefficiency is astrofuckingnomical, but because they aRe DoInG sOmEtHiNg So NeW, people just give them a free pass -- which leads to this behavior being rewarded and reinforced. There is zero accountability.

I like SC. I hope it succeeds. But the absolute cognitive dissonance and refusal to see the facts with a large part of this community is actually kind of scary.

""But the absolute cognitive dissonance and refusal to see the facts with a large part of this community is actually kind of scary""

There's no cognitive dissonance, champ. Some of us are just capable of thinking beyond a couple years into the future. This project is more massive than the last 10 AAA releases combined. It's going to take a long time. Shit happens, shit changes. The door is always right there, feel free to leave if you don't like it.

Refusing facts that are sitting right in front of you while you regurgitate and wear out the "maybe down the road they'll stop being incompetent and moving at a glacial pace" is literally a symptom of cognitive dissonance. You literally can't accept what the reality is, your brain isn't letting you, so instead it's talking about how it may change or what might be.

10 years. More than half a billion dollars, and people are still getting 5-10 FPS, retreading status updates on the same features to fluff progress reports, invisible asteroids, ships promised over half a decade ago nowhere to be seen, braindead AI, still falling through floors and elevators, rudimentary missions, zero base building, still in Alpha, more missed deadlines than I can count with literally two hands, and a single player project they literally refuse to show progress on.

The people in 2018, after aNsWeRiNg ThE cAlL in 2016 also saw more than a few years in the future. YouTube videos from content creators and the community in 2017 were "optimistically hopeful" that CIG could be trusted with their Pyro predictions. It is now 2023. 2023. They all "saw more than a few years in the future" too. Keep refusing to see what is literally the facts of what has played out in favor of what might change. Sad.

Your "fact" is an opinion, not an actual fact. Thats called delusion.

Yeah, they haven't met deadlines they've set. What else is new in the gaming industry? Cyberpunk 2077 came out what, over a year after its intended release date and it was still a heaping pile of shit when it released. Fuckin Lorville alone is bigger than the entirety of Cyberpunk's map and about as detailed. GTAV took about 270 million to fully develop, and 5 years between release dates. GTAV also released in 2013 and profited over 1 billion dollars in the first 3 days.

Your money argument is completely irrelevant to begin with, on top of being compared with literally top-market games.

I'll remind you, since your cognitive dissonance appears to be heavier than anyone else's I've ever seen (ironic huh), that Star Citizen is the single most ambitious project ever undertaken in the gaming industry.

But hey, I'm sure CIG could use your ever-so-insightful commentary and globally renowned bitching skills to help them along, you should go apply🤡

I also just want to point out that you're literally the embodiment of the "stop having fun!!!!" meme. I've been playing SC nearly every day for the last two weeks. Sure there's been issues, but I have a group of people I play with and it's been fun every time. So go cry in the corner or something.
