Well, we were told last week that this episode would focus on SM and 'experimental features'...
So if you were expecting information on TOW, well that mistake is on you...
Yes, I would like more info on TOW myself... but I wasn't expecting it this week, because CIG told us what they were going to talk about last week.
For SC it is.
Tbh this is a step toward ToW. All the processes, workflows and testing on a smaller scale like this opens the door to bigger combat modes if and when the games netcode can support a mode like ToW.
I know ToW was meant to be a stand alone game, but that's not important imo because it's just how you access the game. It's an SC game mode for all intents and purposes and can be expanded out to its own executable when its ready.
Given you're posting here, I'm presuming you check Reddit though... and given you're on the thread complaining about ISC, I figured you either watch them (in which case, you would have seen them saying what this episode was about), or seen the thread about last weeks episode on Reddit... where people were talking about what this episode was going to be about.
There is a disconnect about posting in the thread on ISC within an hour of the episode being posted, about how that episode didn't cover the topic you were interested in.... and implying that you don't watch ISC or read Reddit....
Note: implying - you didn't say you didn't watch ISC or read reddit - but that is what you implied by your response.

Right. It's exactly what all the ToW apologists said couldn't be done.
Most the community saw ToW as another side project that would drain resources and asked why testing couldn't be done in AC instead. That didn't stop a bunch of sweaty tryhard apologists saying ToW was the only way CIG could get valuable testing data.
Last year, when I made a post asking the devs about it and it got removed from spectrum, a lot of people were telling me "bro, just lookout on the roadmap". One year and still no progress...
We saw 'beginnings' of that two years ago when it was announced.. or was it before that?
Eh, no worries, I'm sure they'll have it ready soon this time.
CIG released a trailer for Theatres of War! They even released it to IGN! For whatever i sane reason, CIG thought it was going to be a thing, and this was back in 2019!

Not to be the pessimist, but it's yet another one of those: "Yeah, I've heard that before". Should I mention the BMM?
We're also talking 2019 when they first showed ToW ~ Really thinking about it, we're halfway to 2024, by which most full games can be produced within that time frame, and yet this feature (like countless others) has always had issues getting rolled out, even to a tier 0. Don't get me wrong, Tonk Royale is peaking my interest, let's just hope it gets a fairly strong update more than once every few years, unlike SM and AC.
In the end, all that can be said: CIG is most definitely a company.
If they scrapped a bunch of stuff so that they could finally figure out how to do lobbies and scoreboards, that's like, really bad.
The copium is strong on this one. Theatres of War got Sataballed HARD. And it's probably never coming back. Why not give it A SINGLE MENTION to it if it wasn't what they were working towards? So much for open development.

This is why I don't comment on this Subreddit very often anymore. I both criticize and I give some leeway to CIG when I think they deserve (BUT NOT DEFENDING THEM). This subreddit literally reeks of mob mentality where you can't really question both sides of the coin (the doubters and the believers) at the same time. It sucks baaad.
Except we can question them. You, however are doing the exact opposite. You reek of mob mentality of the entitled “I was PROMISED! GIMME!!! It is MINE, my OWN, my PRECIOUS!” spectrum gang. Those people need to calm down, don’t be like them.

This is a subreddit for a video game. People come here to talk about the game, talk about what they like, look forward to, share pictures, etc.
Imagine going to a Star Trek convention and then using that as your opportunity to bitch about a season you didn’t like or a spin-off that got cancelled. Or point out all the flaws in the lore. People would probably not want to stand around you. That’s called being an asshole, wether you’re right or wrong.
“But omg star citizen said it’d be out years ago and it’s still not!” Yes. We know. Would you like to continue complaining about it or move on with your life? You don’t need to play, you don’t need to spend anything, you won’t lose anymore money, cig can’t hurt you and they aren’t under your bed.
The people here enjoy the game, and enjoy talking about it and sharing info about it. The both compliment and criticize the game in a healthy manor.
If people are enjoying something and excited about it, and you aren’t, move on. People that find the need to shit on other peoples enjoyment is so silly. Just don’t participate if you don’t like it.
