I don't agree with this statement tbh. E.g when we had Evra no one was saying he's not as great as Irwin (LB/RB, Left foot/right foot, great defender and going forward, free kicks and penalties) or when Gary Neville was there for all those years no was saying he's not as great as Tony Dunne (LB/RB, Left foot/right foot, great defender and going forward in 60s a.k.a the modern fullback).
Everyone was just happy that they were giving their all, playing well, were consistent and team was winning playing well.
Enough pressure to split a rock in two I see why only certain players come in and do well for us
