People on twitter: Ugh I can't believe our choices are two 70+ year old guys
America: has the largest voter turnout it's had in a century
They could've voted for Pete but they voted for the 80 year old instead π€·
They could've voted for Jeb!, yet here we are without a bowl of guacamole in sight.
I miss exclamation points.
The lack of emphatic punctuation is what this election is missing.
Edited for clarity
Please clap.
Pete wouldβve never won. Heβs gay.
Similar to how Romney will never win POTUS; heβs a mormon.
Eh, Obama would never win. He's black.
A LOT MORE people dislike mormons and LGBT community than blacks
I really doubt that. Gay people look like normal people, you can't look at someone and know they're gay unless they make it their identity. That's one of the reasons gay acceptance has rocketed in approval: you can't effectively segregate from and demonize them. It's basically you flip 3 coins. If all land heads, that kid is gay.
In contrast, you can't hide your race. People form an opinion of you as soon as they see you. You're "that white/brown/black/whatever guy" before they know anything else about you.
Lincoln was gay (or at least bi).
Maybe today, but when Obama got elected the pro-gay numbers were much lower than now. Hence it "skyrocketing", which is a relatively recent phenomenon.
It's been going on a lot longer than Obama. He is probably the last president to have gay marriage as an issue. IIRC gay acceptance took ~30 years to get to the same point as it took interracial acceptance 50-100 years.
Plus, being gay wasnβt discriminated against for most of IS history. Lincoln was gay and no one really cared.
California, of all states, voted against gay marriage. The black community, in general, is homophobic. Thatβs a bad combination to bring out Democratic turnout.
Pete wasnβt in the closet.
Gay people are normal people lmao
I dunno, man... how many Mormons can say they've been called the -- uh, hold on, what's the mormon equivalent of the n-word? ...There isn't one? Ok, well what's just any common slur against them? ...... ..... .....
May I remind you of a little thing called the IOWA PRIMARY π€
James Buchanan was prolly gay
While I like Pete, he would have had no chance this election unfortunately.
Bernie was my boy, but you can bet your ass I voted Biden.
Yeah I agree, but just saying there were young candidates available
I agree with you completely- Iβm not thrilled to elect someone who could be my grandfather, but this particular grandfather seems like he cares about the people, all the people, in America.
I am hoping this election lights a fire for all young people to be engaged with all levels of politics.
You mean the mayor who allowed racism in his police department? Lol yea fucking right
Pete droped out dummy
No. The DNC picked Biden
Or sanders you know, the second place guy who keeps having the establishment block him
Who would have won already
why are you acting like we had a choice, and the candidates are not picked already for us
The candidates were picked for us, by black people and suburban voters
No they were picked by republican/dem officials who threw all their money and support for two candidates they choose
Funny, I didn't realize that black people and suburban voters were all rich party officials
Why would they vote for someone with almost no relevant experience who is likely a cia asset?
People on Twitter: Trump is the worst president we've ever had, but Biden isn't ideal so I'll just vote for Trump.
man I just want a candidate with out repeated sexual allegations and no pedophilia claims either, is that so much to ask?
You are willfully choosing to ignore the many videos of biden creeping on little kids with that comment.
The second part of that comment is directed at biden
My mistake, I thought it was a sarcastic remark about trumps also creepy conduct
Fuck yeah, and fuck Mulaney
Also people on twitter: "I love daddy Bernie UwU"
Itβs not excitement over the old white man getting me to vote. Itβs disgust for the old orange man.
Yeah imagine thinking Biden had anything to do with this, you could run a wet napkin and itβd have more appeal then Donald Trump.
Based
Well, we didn't like our choices four years ago, and now we realize that not voting for one of them was a terrible mistake.
