Restore AllHide UnarchivedWhat do you mean you’re setting up my PC? I’ve had this PC for 2 years!
This is the funniest one
I get this message EVERY DAMN TIME I boot up my Windows VM.
My Windows VM has no network connection. It's blissful.
My VM needs a windows connection, but it's windows 10. Security be damned, no more updates!
I've had this PC for 8 years and it keeps doing that!
There is a funny thing, there is a windows without the shit, quite honestly more than one
Enterprise editions tend to be less way packed with bullshit, and LTSC versions of enterprise are particularly funny because of how there almost no updates
Meanwhile, enterprise customers are complaining that copilot is showing up on their PCs without warning, and workarounds are being circumvented by Microsoft updates.
Sucks to be a win11 enterprise user then
Im still on win10 enterprise LTSC, zero issues since the setup… and the one time i realized i didn’t install Bluetooth drivers, but that is on me
This absurd pattern of knowy people who pretend it's easy enough for anyone to dodge Microsoft's garbage releases has been going strong since win95 OSR2 or even 3.11 if you want to count that pile of garbage as a win. It's always shit. If you find a moment to breathe on a good release, you haven't invented the wheel. There's no secret formula you can share to alleviate the suffering of the masses. You've lucked into something that won't last. Enjoy it and get used to the idea of learning something new because, for the first time ever, it really seems like Microsoft is losing its grip on gamers and most other niche markets that were locked in MS jail.
I switched to Mac when 11 came around, I don’t fuck with MS garbage at all now when I don’t have to. My previous laptop is still win 10, but that thing eventually will run Linux when I get around to it.
I have education edition and it is a godsend. You can even set up group policy to block some of the really bad Microsoft shenanigans.
"particularly funny because of how there almost no updates"
and that what make it the best one
My gaming PC has run the Enterprise IoT LTSC version for a good while now. There better be a better alternative in 2032.
I know, and agree, there better be, because i don’t feel like doing linux again
Excuse me sir, but I happened to notice your taskbar doesn't currently have a widget with stocks you don't own and click bait headlines from msn.com. I've gone ahead and added those for you, because fuck you. Cheerio!
I hate Copilot and ads and all that, and I hate OneDrive being forced on the user as the default desktop and shit, but I will say OneDrive itself is very useful as someone who frequently goes back and forth from my laptop to my PC. The feature actually rocks.
I just wish it were treated like a normal feature and not like I'm a fucking idiot who needs OneDrive for my computer to work and Microsoft knows better than me.
Oh my god dude, yes! I was so pissed finding out onedrive was on by default and putting things on there. As a result I couldnt access my some of my files and my personal projects! As someone who has to go months without internet at a time for his job, this freakin sucks.
I love the concept but I hate that its so forced and now I have to take all this time to transfer everything back.
Onedrive stores the files locally and in the cloud. You can accesses the files just fine when offline. Unless you format and reinstall the they are in the cloud only. The just rightclick the files and select to always keep the files on your device.
Yeah this wouldve been nice to know BEFORE leaving port. I was basicslly sitting here with artwork I cant access until I hit land again. It wouldve been nicer to know my program was saving to the cloud and not locally.
Swear the more we advance the bigger steps back we take. Worst part is most people will never run into this issue cause theyre going to be constantly connected.
Sadly most apps don't have manuals or help files anymore. It's up to us to familiarise ourself with the tools we use.
*stares in "Desktop"
I don't want to use windows, but I need to use adobe for work. I really want to install some kind of low-maintenance version of linux as a daily driver and set up a virtual machine for windows. I just don't have a clue how to approach that. And I sure as fuck ain't touching MacOS either.
I keep hearing Arch thrown around, but I also hear people saying that it's a massive pain in the ass and you have to baby it every step of the way. What's even the right distro for this purpose? Bazzite? Mint?
Mint is good.
If you can't figure out how to get rid of windows bloat then you are going to have a blast learning linux commands.

Restore AllHide UnarchivedLmao.
Just hilarious when people act like the top paid IT guy at their work and yet taking the 3 minutes of their lives to uninstall bloat on their personal devices is such a chore. Hell, if you are only using it for gaming then why are you not just signed into one drive? Why are you using a different web browser than the basic one that comes with the OS?
Literally installing SteamOS on my desktop as we speak due to this.
Windows10Debloater is a good script to run to disable all that crap + telemetry
not sure if Windows 11 has a similar script available though
My windows doesn't have edge. Doesn't have one drive. Disabled copilot. And what ads in start bar? Wtf is that never seen that before. You sound like an apple user.
This! I recently got a Windows 10 after not having a computer since XP and I was so pissed that it basically tried to hide the way for me to create a normal local account and attempted to force me to login with a Microsoft account. Not too mention the One Drive folder that automatically holds you "my documents" even when you don't use One Drive (I hate cloud storage and always use hard storage for everything). The other crap is annoying but those are the worst IMO.
The worst thing, is Microsoft just seems so reluctant to actually innovate.
Their handheld game windows version? Made in a rush in reaction to SteamOS.
Their Edge browser even when setup as a professional device still has the cancer msn homepage bs that is litered with not safe for work shit.
You could open edge in a screenshare session and be assaulted with bikini models for seemingly no reason.
OH shit! It's stopped making money???? Sell MSFT short!
Thank god for the alternative versions like FSOS, X-lite and AtlasOS.
honestly I feel like we have a chance to take the gaming pc market away from windows. We should start some sort of movement to move to linux so people start developing for it more. I'm sick of windows too.
That is its current purpose, for Microsoft anyway. Adjust or suffer…
Not even a little edging?
