Don’t do that, scouter doesn’t work that way. Either 7 or 10 cd because of the way legacy engraving decreases cooldown 9cd would just be setting your gold on fire.
9damage is perfectly fine, don’t waste gold on 9cd better save for 10cd
Its not about how it affects you but how hosts perceive you. For any x-form classes having 2 gems needed only means you want them to be higher level. Won't matter how efficient you are if people think you are cheaping out on a cheap class
you either make friends or be at the mercy of pugs, it's not hard either way since i do both but such is the nature after getting jailed time after time again, maybe you should try it too.
this makes no sense either since Evo scouter does less damage. You're not wasting gold, you're trying to boost your damage on a class that already does less than others in return for a easy class to play.
This is th correct answer overall. You ned to understand th breakpoints of classes and what CD gem they actually need. Also, get that damage gem higher.
How many people do you think actually knows about the breakpoints for transformation classes? Im guessing most don't. If the point is only to get accepted into parties, then having 2 lvl9 gems would help. Even if the cd gem doesn't provide a direct benefit, it can still be used to upgrade to a lvl10 gem later down the line.
It's not even xform classes, a majority of the classes in the game DO NOT go to 10 CDR because of breakpoints. You have to take into account yearning buff, swiftness, tripods, 6 pc set, etc. Realistically, they dont want max CDR gems, or at leasst want to keep them even with each other to keep the abilities in rotation with on another.
You missed the point completely. OP didnt ask about min maxing his class, he asked how to get accepted into parties. If youre aiming to get accepted into a decent party, then you need to make yourself look the part. It doesn't matter if higher level gems doesnt provide a benefit.

Its already lenient enough with lvl 7 cdr gem.
In general 9 cd is kinda a waste... 10s are less than twice the price of the 9 (atm on EUC 170%).
9 and 10 cd gems are not proportionally more expensive the way damage is and getting better gems still gives you more reliability. For my igniter sorc you can get off 2 doomsdays with level 7 if you time it perfectly both on the initial drop and shoot off the other instantly off cooldown. Problem is in a raid that essentially impossible to actually do so generally 8 is considered the minimum. I use a level 9 because it lets me dodge patterns or spacebar up from a knockdown and still get off my 2nd meteor without hurting my dps.
If level 9 cd gems cost as much as damage you’d have more of a point but between the two you’re still not talking about that much extra gold. Could easily go for level 8 or something instead as well if money is actually the issue.
This is about scouter legacy engraving cooldown though, it has built in cooldown reduction and only 10cd is a new breakpoint, not 9. Sorcs (and other classes including SH) yes, get any cd gem and it will be an improvement. Scouter only gets new rotation with 10cd so investing money into 9cd will not benefit much compared to gold invested
you can do triple crimson breakers on as low as lv7 cd if you have perfect uptime but still tight. Higher gem levels allow for more leniency. Unless the boss hatecrimes you with some bad patterns lvl 9 is plenty enough for triple S, and a lv10 isnt going to save you if the boss makes you lose uptime.
to put this in perspective, a dps with full 7s is 11 gems or single 9 and two 7s.
only two 7s is the equivalent to taking a dps with half 6s and half 5s.
