I love Tool and I’m not ashamed of it.

People mostly hate their fanbase which I fully understand having seen Tool
Tools one of those bands who's rep ping pongs violently back and forth
There are some people who hate them but I’ve only seen glowing praise on this sub. I’m not even a Tool fan but it is cool to see them not catching as much hate here than in other spaces. Prog is just extremely hit or miss for me
Tool definitely deserves praise. Great band with 4 amazing musicians.
I remember way back when the Fear Inoculum review dropped there was a brief period where this sub was getting into a (very one sided, if I recall) beef with Tool fans for supposedly not being able to handle Fantano's criticisms of the album. But I thought that was just an isolated incident and not reflective of the sub's views on Tool in general.
Tool has always been, and always will be, fuckin great
Tool is great. Maynard is a douchebag but Tool is still great.
What did Maynard do?
Just your typical conservative old man who’s mad about woke, but also he’s just insufferable and pretentious on top of it lol
He's a bit pompous and up his own ass but that's far from the worst thing a lead singer can be.
Just listen to him do an interview and you’ll get it
I've seen people hating on their fanbase or the band (really just Maynard) plenty of times, but their music is damn near universally praised online. I've always felt like I was in the minority for thinking they're just pretty good.
