  1. Your are wasting a lot of space. Please use Jake's Resume and make sure its one page.
  2. Profile/Summary is not required.
  3. For writing about your experience bullet points use XYZ Rule and mention metrics like reduce API response time to Xms etc. You can ask ChatGPT to write it for you by providing it the correct promt.
  4. For experience at max 2/3 lines per bullet point and try to keep them short but to the point.
  5. No need to mention Languages only technical skills should be mentioned.
  6. Coming to projects try to keep at bullet points at max 3 per project and bold words like you have done in experience. Provide both live link as well as github link
  7. Mention any achivements like hackathon win, coding rank etc.

There is a standard template, generally it's a blank sheet with long lines where you can write more valuable content. YouTube pe mil jaiga ki kaise banate hai. Resume to get into Google ye dekh. And focus on boring looking resumes because they are easily readable for the ATS

Jake's Resume

[–]InternalLake8Software Developer2 points1 year, 11 months ago

This is the most used resume template and I have seen a lot of folks use this. There is another template called Modern Deedy.

for the third point, what to write if someone has not worked in improving the algorithm stuffs, like improving the response time but only worked on creating new things, like a adding some fields or creating a new webpage, form, api, procedures, components or similar stuffs like that. The client does not tell us, what are the effects of our development in his sales.

You can ✍️ something like: 1. Developed and implemented new website features, including interactive forms and dynamic content. 2. Developed reusable components and libraries to accelerate product development cycles and maintain code consistency.

From your query it looks like you work as an FE, so you can mention reducing page load time by X amt/percent, improved core web vital score

[–]nefrodectylFull-Stack Developer 2 points1 year, 11 months ago

thanks man, sounds promising. I work in all the way from FE to BE to DB, to create some stuffs in FE we start right from plsql, to get the data from db and then make logic and api in the BE to send it back to the FE and then make the changes in FE to show that. I don't think that reduces page load time tho, more like addition of new things on already existing page that slows the page load a tiny tiny bit each time most probably hahaha, or creating a new page altogether. Good advice tho, and your other points still valid, I'll will see, thanks.

Basically you have to tell GPT that you will be giving it some bullet points from your resume or will tell it about the project in concern and would like it to rephrase them using the XYZ rule, use action verbs etc

Yup all of this plus to add to it throw in a few numbers. - You did a meal related project for food waste how much food waste was saved? And other similar metrics it doesn't have to be metrics that affect your contribution directly it can be metrics that the project itself had achieved. - Also remove things like team player and collaboration and the likes in the skills section and make it smaller your skill section is way too large. - Better yet replace the skills section with competition and hackathon that you were a part of. You don't have to have won it just having participated holds weight and any other online courses or bootcamps or whatever to show that you're always learning.

Can you pls give few suggestions for certifications that I could do to shape my career in Front end development. Currently am studying REACT in youtube and stuffs.

Also suggest few steps that I could follow to get placed in a Product based company.

I have 3 and half yrs of experience in BPM based domain as a Developer

[–]InternalLake8Software Developer1 point1 year, 8 months ago
  1. For frontend no one needs certification, its always about the skills you have and what your bring to the table.
  2. For PBC's you need DSA + HLD + LLD. These might differ based on roles.

In case of switching my domain in Front end development from BPM based to REACT developer with no experience in that part, how can I approach further? Since they'll ask for experience in that but what I may have is the Tool knowledge

What if I have 2 or more projects I feel are suitable for showcasing my skills for the role?

permalinkparentcontexthide replies (1)author-focusas-ofpreserve
[–]InternalLake8Software Developer2 points1 year, 11 months ago

Thumb rule for freshers -> Mention 3 projects. 1 project should be solid and you should be able to talk about it in interviews. 2 mediocre or 1-med 1-basic project.

permalinkparentcontexthide replies (1)author-focusas-ofpreserve
[–]AviatorSkywatcher1 point1 year, 11 months ago

For experienced (2-3 years)?

permalinkparentcontexthide replies (1)author-focusas-ofpreserve
[–]InternalLake8Software Developer1 point1 year, 11 months ago

For experienced people, they are mostly asked question on their past experiences and what that they have worked on. Can mention 2 projects atmost.

Have seen this template over a thousand times. People need to get over with sticking to a fix template for resume. Be creative.

I came across this resume sample and I'm thinking about using it as a template for my civil engineering career. Was this originally designed for computer science roles? If so, do you think it can be effectively adapted for a civil engineering context? Any advice or adjustments you'd recommend for a fresher in civil engineering would be greatly appreciated. Your insights mean a lot, thank you!
