It is still not high enough… yes it is actually usable now, but still only if you click it precisely.
UX/UI Designer here. iOS guidelines recommends 44x44pt area for touch targets. It appears there is a 30pt distance between the video controller and the home indicator. Your recommendation of moving it up 10-20px is spot on.
