My own subjective view is 3600 CL 16. Within reason depends on your price point. Some people with that cpu might go like a 4000 cl 17 or something

I think on average they probably are. G.skill tridents are like the premium brand for the G.skill company. But rip jaws are also very good as well. Overall G.skill is a brand I've used and can personally recommend.

But the issue is that to find the best ram for the 5900x you also need to consider RAM timings in addition to the product line (e.g. ripjaw vs trident). Are you familiar with RAM timings?

Essentially the best way to think about this is to use an analogy using Apple's laptop product line. Apple has multiple laptop product lines for example like Macbook Air and Macbook pro. While the pro is better than the Air in a single year, a 2020 Macbook air is probably better than a 2012 Macbook pro.

Similar analogy applies for the ram where g.skill tridentz are probably more premium in each specific ram cohort, but might not be better than a rip jaw in another ram timing cohort.

The easiest way to pick good ram is just for you to tell me: What is your budget, how many Gbs do you want/need (often 16 or 32 unless you need it for other applications), and do you want/need RGB lighting. And how many ram slots your motherboard has.

300-500 for just the ram? With that budget, it being a ITX motherboard I probably recommend just going for the 32 gbs of ram. It won't cost that much more and you will be golden for atleast the next 3 years honestly.

I should have also asked about your motherboard and if you had any other ARGB fans.
