doesnt help with outbound link tracking.
also, ad blocking on iOS is not so straightforward.
I’m using a VPN for ad blocking too. I also have to use reader-view on some pages but I suspect some sites may somehow be working around that.
Yeah some of them have disabled reader view altogether
What VPN do you use? Im currently looking for a new one, im not happy with the one im paying for now.
Nord, thats not like Nortons right? I had them and they locked up my phone and blocked Apple out of it so they couldn’t give me any help. And im running with HotspotShield. But its going down hill since 1 or 2 updates ago. Luckily i didnt update it and its still working decent.
Ok, ill take a look and see the reviews too.
Thank you.
Yeah, ive thought about that too, but some of the places i go i need that cover cause of the new reports i read about things around the world that wont be on any tv or streaming places. Some of the news videos isee i wish I hadn’t seen, but I chose to click play. I record many of them and lets just say if someone posted any of them here on Reddit, they wouldnt be up long at all. But its not all bad news, some great ones to mixed in.
Thank you for you information. Should help me pick a new one or help stay away from others.
Websites really need to get with the times. I'll gladly pay a couple pennies a day to view a website without ads, or at least non-invasive, non-tracking, respecting my privacy ads. Hell get on the Brave train and I'll distribute some of my BAT to you.
When this happens I just don’t view the page. I’m not turning off my privacy settings. Most of the time I can find the same info on another site. If not, I’m looking to cut back on my internet use anyway, so they’re just making it easier for me.
Does this work for the app? I had to delete the app because the ads were triggering a relapse for me.
The Reddit App.
You got a pi hole or something?
Can you use a third-party Reddit app? I use Sync on Android and it's hands down the best Reddit experience. No ads, no outbound link tracking, no bullshit.
Yeah, I use /r/apolloapp, which is great. I suspect Reddit will ban 3rd party apps at some point though.
Edit: Called it.

Oh damn yeah, I'm using Android and that has system-wide ad blockers, and also using a third party app.
The other option is a Pi hole in your home to nuke all ads, and maybe a VPN with ad blocker features for when traveling.
I'm not smart enough to confirm this, but I think that Privacy Badger should help with this, if I understood correctly what it does. Check it out. Not sure if it's iOS compatible though.
It won't.
The problem here is that Reddit redirects every single link you click on the platform through out.reddit.com and logs it.
Pihole. Get it
Have it. Never said it's impossible.
Was more of a generic statement for anyone who reads it.
Sorry, I hate putting a lot effort into replies on mobile lol
