A lot of people have asked about this on these r/blog posts, and thanks to the great feedback we've started work on a feature to allow people to see and manage who’s following them. Right the it's with design, so it’s in the works but won’t be available right away. We’ll keep you posted on the progress, and will definitely announce it here.
So reddit is the only social media site in the world that let's people follow a user without that user being able to see who follows them....
Some how you guys don't see the problem with that... which is incredibly troublesome. And instead of putting that to the front of the line you dicked around for a year and decided that user presence is more important...
The decision making is baffling to say the least.
Disabling the "Follow" button until a user has made at least one self post, or clarifying (such as with a
( i )button directly next to it) that it only applies to self posts and does no more to enable stalking than a browser bookmark would both greatly reduce the number of complaints about it. Or picking a less all-inclusive verb, though it's years too late for that.
