Waaaay more typing than I anticipated, but was easier to reason about as I went.
On reflection, some of the ordering wasn't strictly necessary (sorting by X, for example), since the more important part of a Span is which point starts it.
I'm seeing much more efficient solutions posted, and very excited to learn from them -- also curious what the non-brute force version is.
