I'm doing edits on my novel but I'm going to try and fit in an entry for this while I'm at it. How can I not try my hand at pulpy scifi/fantasy?
I'm in the same boat, but this is just too much fun to pass up.
Are you trying to meet the Feb 16th deadline for the Amazon contest?
Hmm, I wasn't planning on it with this novel, but I do have another one lying around that's far closer to done. It's very tempting, especially for the critiques you supposedly get.
Oh and the deadline is March 2nd, though it looks like they only accept 10k entries total.
I'll be putting mine in ASAP to make sure I actually get in. The novel is finished (2nd draft) but I have some beta reader notes and another reread of my own to go through so I'm sure I'll be able to pump out Draft 3 in the next two weeks or so.
Amazon contest?
There's a full novel contest that was posted a couple of days ago.
Sounds interesting. Got a link?
It was in r/writing. I can't link from my phone that I know of. Can throw it up later if you cannot find it.
Found it! http://www.reddit.com/r/writing/comments/1vgeoz/something_to_work_for_this_year_amazon/
You must try your hand at everything, that's what I say.
