I thought novelettes went up to 25k...
Oh well, makes it easier I guess.
There is some debate as to when a novelette turns into a novella.

If you follow that link, I'm going by the guidelines set forth by The Science Fiction And Fantasy Writers of America Nebula Awards categories. Besides, extending it beyond 17,500 would make far too much work for all the entrants to read. :D
