"I can't get this damn taste out of my mouth"

That was the scariest episode! That episode and the incest family are seared into my core memory bank.
“Home” is the most disturbing X-Files episode of the entire series imo. It has the distinction of being removed from re-run circulation and only aired once when it was new.
But thankfully it's both on Disney and at least in the original dvd boxes.
Yes! Although certainly disturbing, the production quality, script, direction and performances are top notch. One really gets the uneasy feeling that somewhere out there, in some time and place, in a dark, forgotten corner of this Earth, there existed a family and property uncomfortably similar to the unspeakable horrors of the Peacock’s homestead.
It is inspired by the Ward brothers.

Oh cool! Didn’t know that. Thank you!
Great and unbelievable film
Exactly!
I remember that mushroom that grows out ur throat episode terrified me so much
Removed from the rerun circulation on FOX? I’ve found a new channel called COMET and they run 4 episodes every night in order. It’s my go-to show when there’s nothing on which is about 5 nights a week.
I think so- ‘"Home" was the first episode of The X-Files to carry a viewer discretion warning for graphic content. It would have been the only episode to receive a TV-MA rating upon broadcast, but it aired two months before the December 19, 1996 introduction of the TV Parental Guidelines.’
“Owing to that content, the network would only repeat the episode once on Halloween 1999, three years after the original airing. This was the only time, in the history of the series, that this happened.”

Crazy. Such a well written episode that was incredibly entertaining. The references to the Andy Griffith show were a nice touch.
It was! I agree! And the good writing wasn’t an accident. While reading up i was reminded that this episode marked the triumphant return of original writers, Glen Morgan and James Wong, who had left the show in season two. More living proof of how story and dialogue writing is so important and the integral core to every t.v. show and film.
I'm hungry.
(Am hungruh).
I remember watching that shit live as a kid
Literally, I never watched it again after that episode. It was an excellent episode, but just so creepy.
Omg that incest family one was horrific and I also think it was a Halloween episode . . .
The whole pulling the box from under the bed to reveal stumpy Mom. Good creepy TV, for sure.
It was also hilarious. Remember Scully trying to get the sheep to move and saying, "Baa Ram Ewe."
we referred to that one as mom stored under the bed.
We refer to it as "I'm hunnnngry"
That was our 24#/longhair (per his vet the largest feline client in the practice) black cat’s motto so we needed something else. Did that do contain cannibalism too? I’ve kind of blocked it out of my memory bc it shook me so much. I didn’t realize they took it out of circulation after its first run!
I never got to enjoy watching xfiles when it aired originally, so that fact is wild to me as well.
What's also especially creepy is an old car just like theirs drove slowly past my home last week on a picture perfect beautiful day. Thankfully it wasn't playing that song! But it instantly brought back that episode.
Ugh. Sometimes it really is just tooooo much that one.
That woman also played like 3 other characters in the show. I can't remember all, but the one with the twin brothers, where they're playing hangman to the death, is her! As both twins!
Episode of what!? I wanna see this series - just based on the Pic and what you just posted
Oh - I should have kept reading. X- files.
The X-Files
Omg, when the mom with no limbs is wheeled out from the bed??!!! Nightmare fuel.
Yessssssss! So creepy!
“I’ll do anything for my boys”
The Tooms episodes are up there for me. I always sort of enjoyed The Host, it was spooky but fascinating.
The witch in the bathtub full of blood scared the living hell out of me. Then she vomited up needles! 10-11 year old me did not sleep that night.
What in God’s holy name is that?
Flukeman from the X-Files. He’s a cuddle bug.
I saw this x-files episode live i believe he lived in the sewer lol
I couldn't use a port-a-potty for almost 20 years. Thanks a lot, Flukeman.
I still can't 🥲
This gloryhole will require a bit more effort than usual

Hm I wonder if this was inspired by Harlequin-type ichthyosis
I think it was inspired by “6’ tall humanoid fluke lives in sewage”
Lol of course, but I meant its appearance.

ETA I should probably put a “view at your own risk” warning or whatever on here. Some fight find the images disturbing.
i can't go into a porta potty without lowkey being worried this dude may pop up
And the guy eats globs of toothpaste. 🤮
