I have the Timbuk2 Authority. It’s pretty small, close to the same size as the Aer City Pack. I think their quoted capacity is misleading. I don’t think it will work for what you want to carry.

I have the Aer City Pack, Flight Pack, and City Pack Pro right now and am deciding which one I want. So far I’m leaning towards the CPP. It’s a little bit bulky, but I’m able to pack all my usual stuff for travel in it and still have a little bit of space left over. The only disappointment is that my 26l Yeti bottle doesn’t fit in the water bottle pocket.

With my Authority, if I decide to buy a bag of snacks at the airport there’s barely any more room to stuff it into my bag, no less souvenirs or stuff you pick up while traveling.

Not something I noticed just wearing it for a few minutes in the house, but it seems logical. A bigger backpack with more depth would obviously not be as comfortable as a smaller, shallower one. I’m sure it’s dependent on how stuffed the bag is as well.

Water bottle pockets are such a bummer on the Aer bags. I end up having to bring a small 18 oz bottle (which I guess their pockets are designed for) in addition to my actual 32 oz bottle stored internally.

What’s weird is that the one on the Flight Pack is a completely different and better design which does hold my big bottle fine.
