I'm also part do the camp that sees this game as a Trainwreck but taking a 160p screenshot with graphics turned down in an area that is clearly not in a finished state and crying that the graphics suck is wild.

Yeah this post is insane and so are the comments lmao. The game looks nothing like this screenshot in my 100+ hours of playing so far. The MMORPG sub is miserable these days.
crazy how upset they get when someone has something positive to say about an open development game. The first of it’s kind in the MMO world.
obviously its not done yet. The developers chose to invite people along for the entire process, at great risk to the project.
Warhammer Online was exceptionally open, so not the first of its kind. I remember all their weekly dev blogs and vidoes well, and the episode where they play with meat to get some of the chaos cosmetics right. That was an era before social media was barely ultilized.

Wows open beta wasn't this shit. The game feels absolutely terrible. The movement is stiff, the mounts feel like im riding a Trojan horse, the combat is completely lacklustre, casting feels terrible, the ui is over the top, the claiming skills up really? Just passively would have been great. Some areas look alright, but my god, some look absolutely terrible. Given its running on ue5 as well, I assume they havent updates large parts? 5090/9800x3d. The farming feels janky, new world felt 👌, this feels clunky. I know its an alpha so ill give it some time they have a ton of work to do snd I hope their pipeline is agile.
Definitely give it some time. There’s still a lot of jank. I wouldn’t recommend playing an alpha if that bothers you.
Ive played many a beta and alpha over the years, thats why it doesnt bother me and I can see beyond it, the foundations for a great game are there!
I’ve played Anvils starting area as well and it’s only a small part of the game and the most unfinished. To pretend like this one screenshot is representative of the games visuals is just ridiculous. Try playing the other starting area too before making any judgements. Or don’t, idc
I mean that actually looks great but I do unironically like the screen shot graphics as well. It gives me nostalgia of the older game graphics lol
It’s the kick starter hate mob. They can’t just chill. They have to go to the edge of the map and find the worst graphics they can to stir up drama. It happened before EA too.

Well, it’s in alpha, and this starting area warns you that it’s not as put together as the other starting area. I don’t see what people are saying with the placeholder UE5 stuff—the games looks amazing in most built out areas. My biggest gripe with it right now is the muddyness of the textures and my hair clipping through armor lol, but it’s an alpha. I’m giving tons of feedback when I encounter bugs or think a system needs an adjustment.

Well it is alpha, and you are allowed to judge as much as you want, would just be cool if people considered what the main goal of alpha is instead of expecting to see a finished and polished game.
