Maya literally quit streaming for a while because of it and still to this day says if Alveus could survive without her streaming she’d stop in a heartbeat. She did not get out fine mentally
I mean you also see the difference with collabs. I remember when the faze kids went to austin for the first time and collabed with miz, there community was upset and brought up the drama, and in the same breath were begging for them to collab with maya lol

But I also agree that people shit a lot harder and more often on Miz for it, and he definitely took a bigger hit to his reputation than she did

No she still gets people commenting it on everything she posts, even if it's at least usually replied to by people debunking it. And "you are maya higa" in chat, more so during collabs
Luckily I think 'maya higa drama' finally fell off the first 10 search results on her name on google last year. But it depends what you search, there is definitely still results when you search 'maya higa mizkif' etc.
She also definitely still gets the same accusations even though they have somewhat died down. I still see them on all platforms, especially tiktok. It is not anywhere to the degree as Miz, but they are still there.
Her being personally hurt on a mental level as a lot different than having a permanent stain on your reputation like Mizkif did. Go ahead, do people genuinely default to Maya being a “bad person” the way they do with Mizkif? I don’t even know the guy but I will always defend people who get done dirty by people so desperate to throw them under the bus.
Just to be clear, I was very on the Maya/Miz side when this whole situation was going on. Thing about reputational damage afterwards, I think it also relates to their content since then.
There are a lot of people who just don't like Miz because they see him as a bit of a troll and a farmer. If a bunch of people don't really like you, they're more likely to remember all the bad things they've heard about you.
In contrast, Maya has branded herself as the animal saviour sanctuary person, doesn't engage in drama stuff anymore, and is only doing charitable and animal education stuff. Of course people aren't thinking of anything bad they might have heard at one point, she's the nice animal lady now.
But her nice animal lady shtick is her rebranding after she came back. I'm talking about it as it happened. Ludwig made an entire exposé about Mizkif with almost zero mention of Maya. Of course, it's extremely easy for her to make a comeback and rebrand when people online/culturally have implicit biases towards pretty girls who do innocent, wholesome things like protecting animals and running sanctuaries. But her involvement was arguably more egregious than Mizkif's. Regardless, no one bothered giving Miz the same kind of charity as they do with Maya. And they still don't. The way people talk about the dude, you'd think he actually did SA.
Im sure she didnt get out fine mentally, with her very little reputation damage and still millions in revenue every year...

This specific thing might be a gray area, but around this time there were other stories coming out showing how Slick was a massive weirdo and creep. We even got to see DMs of what he said to some women. Slick more than earned his cancellation.
This whole thing was mind blowing.. Basically Miz got most of the heat because he's Miz, Maya went and talked to the girl but somehow Miz is the bad guy...
Slick was fine when it was he said she said but a few girls also came out with way too horny DMs from him, there was claims he used Miz's clout to try to get into girls pants too. He may not have touched that girl but he was still being a bit of a creep behind the scene.
