I always wondered if it's cultural appropriation when we are wearing American stuff like t-shirts with the US flag on it.

This is such a fallacy. People tend to blend American culture into one or two photos like this post, generally in the global melting pots of LA or New York, but this is very clearly a play off the southern redneck swamplands area of the country. If you want true American culture, go down to New Orleans. Soul food, jazz music, and leftover influences from France and England make it a very unique place.
Or shift over to the Rocky Mountains to find the nice, hearty, flannel wearing people who say ‘ope’ like Canadians.
Or cowboy culture down in our deserts.
Or the green environmentalists over in Oregon.
Or the gritty, hard working people of the east coast who make great pizza.
There’s tons of culture in America. In fact, there’s more varied culture here by geography than pretty much anywhere else in the world. So I get why it’s easy to blend them all together in your mind and say “America has no culture”, but this couldn’t be further from the truth. I encourage you to explore more of the world around you
They have, it's just so ubiquitous and dominant that people consider it normal
