Miami didn't even win its own conference, though. Miami needs Duke to make the CFP to even have a chance regardless of thier win over ND. How can Duke not be in as the ACC champ, but Miami somehow gets in?
ND doesn't participate in a conference to the disgust of many, so that factor doesn't apply to them. That's the reality. ND were ranked 10th coming into yesterday, with Bama ahead of them and BYU behind them. Both Bama and BYU lost convincingly in their conference title games.
How does ND even drop in this scenario? Miami plays in a conference and didn't even make it to their conference title game. Miami would've been better off if Virginia had won, given their current ranking.
Because they lost to Miami.
