Just unsub from all the defaults and subscribe to niche subs relating to your hobbies and interests. This site as a whole is fucking garbage. Full of lazy posts, bad jokes, hive minds, karma-whoring, bigotry, ignorance, and hate. Just try to weed out the extremely popular, toxic, and/or boring communities.

There are plenty of non-default communities that are not entirely ruined. Especially if you're looking for something related to your hobbies, interests, or identity.

This has always been the way to go on reddit. If all you do on reddit is go to the default or popular subs then you'll just see garbage like this all the time. Go to niche subs then you'll at least see garbage that suits your interest.
Yeah I don't think in my seven years of having an account, general Reddit has ever not been garbage.
