Yep. More specifically YYYY-MM-DD or YYYYMMDD (IAW iso 8601).
YY/MM/DD works, the issue I have with it is that if you omit the year it's again MM/DD which I don't like.

September is 9 (Septem is latin for 7), October is 10 (Octo is latin for 8), November is 11 (latin for 9) and December is 12 (latin for 10). It's always +2.
