So what's the goal then? If he's just sending troops to places with no crime and having them post up in safe areas essentially being useless what is actually happening right now?
It's the same thing he did in LA. It's all optics of him being a "strong man". When people protest, he calls it a riot as proof of why they are needed. And if things escalate, it gives him an excuse to declare martial law.
I mean.. the comments he made about Portland the other day were 100% because the dumb fuck mistook video from his last term as happening now.

This is true. Its also true thats him and his demons have figured out how to steal this country, using its own laws against it. They've had this plan, and executed it, and have been successful at subverting democracy. His tariffs are doing exactly what he wants, you have to think about why he would do something so "stupid". There were National Guard service people commenting on the LA occupation that said that the National Guard does not get any benefits if there are no orders for 30+ days. He had orders for 29 days specifically so they do not get paid benefits.
Pretty sure they didn't even get beds while here either. They had to sleep on cots in a hotel ballroom

That's what I figured. Put on the fox news recap the other day and it was much worse than I remembered.
Trying to get peoole used to erring troops in the street in TV and hoping for this to become normalized in peoples minds. So when something goes wrong, when someone is killed or risky injured by military troops, they're hoping people will shrug as they are used to troops in the street, so just like cops, it's dangerous and part of the job, when it's not at all supposed to be part of the job! But they will say, "see, they need even more troops, look how dangerous it is!"
That us my thinking. You see we have villains, actual villains, running the country. This isn't hyperbole! The Current president was besties with a pedophilia ring, ring leader, a convicted felon, and clearly inclined towards authoritarianism. This man is the literal embodiment of a mustache Twirling Hollywood villain! Used his inherited wealth to gain the reigns of power of the GOP first, he then used that position to enrich himself more, capturing more power by getting elected president the first time. He messed up his plan to be King Trump then, this is round two. He now doesn't care about repercussions as there are none he has taken power over the one branch that was going after him and shut it down, as a villain would do.
This is going to get worse. The one saving grace is his health and age. Perhaps his time will be too short to enact his evil plans fully. But a man at the end of his rope, is a man with little to lose, which might make it worse. But he is evil. That's got me on edge as far as the future of the country is concerned. 😪
Fox news will roll clips of the guard driving down the street to a soundtrack of "Born in the USA" and say that crime in Chicago has been solved. Or they'll finally get the civil war they always wanted. Win-win for them.
