I agree with you on this. My mom passed away last year and she was a little short of 64. She worked hard for my siblings and I, and always told us to save money. She had saved up some money in her 401k only to never use it. It has changed my perspective on life and money. I am still chasing the dollar as I want to live comfortably but I think a lot of us emphasize saving up for the future, but the thing is, that is not guaranteed. I try to live in the moment now but humbly, while still saving some. I am never going to be young again and driving a fun car, for example. My condolences to you and thanks for your insight
I feel that. It’s like Andy Dufresne said in The Shawshank Redemption, “get busy living, or get busy dying”. My wife and I spent a year in an RV for our honeymoon. It ruined me financially, but the experience was so incredible it was absolutely worth it
That sounds wonderful! Traveling is so fun! Best wishes to you
This is so wise.
Im sorry for your loss :( a single mom has to work really hard just to get that food and roof
Thank you for posting. I needed to read this as a new parent of 4 month old baby who stresses about the lack of money at least 57 times a day.
