I managed to devolve into just calling my cat by the first syllable in his name. He went from Barnaby to Barney to Barn to Ba.
We call our Barry girl Ba which turned in to Bobby, which turned in to Bob, which somehow just became baby Justin.
We adopted 'Donald'. Now it's The Don, Donaldcito, Dondon, bebe, bebecito, bebecitobebe, bebito, bebidon, bebe of the house, bebe of the couch, etc.

When I'm home alone, I'll occasionally call my dogs "gooby-butt." I don't know why, but they love the name.
I had a cat I called booger butt, later shortened to boogey, then just boog. No idea how it started.
My ex's mom's puppy is named Bojangles, and he absolutely loves being called "Bobo Butt". Every time I see him, I'll shout "It's Bobo Butt!" and he'll race over and cover me in kisses.

For us we had a chunk of a Pitbull and it started Nugget then nuggers, nugs, nuggy, nuggaboo, boo-boo, babushka, burl.

Roofus, Roobus, Loobus, Ruby, Roobaloo, Roocifer, Roo-th, Root.. and those are just the names I've called her in the last 24 hours.
Shes also got names that we have no idea how they came about, kadinski comes to mind and I'm really not sure where it came from.

Grandmas cat is named geidion or something like that. Couldn’t remember his name at the start so now it’s a running joke of calling him anything that starts with G. Gordon, George, Georgie, gallipolis, gallipolicos and so on. Never have called him by his real name and he always comes to me by whatever name.
Relatable. Just this week he's been called Mr Chonk, Heavy Boy, Snugglebuns, Vomit Rocket, Greedy Floof, Wowzer Meowzer, Fattybun, and Fartologist.
Yeah, I'm pretty sure I forgot some on my list lol.
