DIYDoes it look "overstuffed and awkward"? I'm admiring all the extra room the "overstuffed NO house" has. Would love to know what people think.(i.redd.it)

Yeah I’m an architect and down dozens of these 😂

It’s just for illustration purposes, the width of the dormer can be extended or shortened in either the yea or no house. The no house the dormer is about 20, possibly 25% wider, again this could be done in the yes house.

You do understand both are converted attics a right?

Look, I'd love to get your point of view but not with your toxic engagement.

Ok it’s simple the yes house is the way to go. There’s no benefit to the no house.

I sincerely hope you're not this bad in real life

What’s the benefit to house NO then other than more head height and most likely making the room look out of proportion?

Yea I know precisely how dormers work, the floor space you gain would be equal to area of the roof that is now accessible at head height due to the dormer installation. As I stated above the width of the dormers in the no and yes house can be increased or decreased to increase or decrease floor space. You’re talking about dormers in general again and ignoring the actual post 😂

Do you have issues with comprehension? The illustration is highlighting how raising the dormer to the eaves makes it look awkward it has nothing to do with floor space. It’s addressing design principals.

Like it’s in plain English, can you highlight any portion of the illustration in the post that relates to floor area? 🤣

Sorry how would raising the height of a dormer give you more floor space?

I only ever addressed height so show me what assertion I made relates to floor space. This should be good 🤣😂

How? You said “The point that you are making is incorrect” the point I made was that the additional space in the NO house compared to the YES house would only be in the hight of the room.

Did you even read my comments?

From your comment you clearly believed I was comparing a standard attic conversation to a dormer attic conversation and are now to ignorant to accept my point was accurate.

You clearly missed this part of my comments then:

It’s just for illustration purposes, the width of the dormer can be extended or shortened in either the yes or no house. The no house the dormer is about 20, possibly 25% wider, again this could be done in the yes house.

If you extend the width of the dormer it will increase floor space or if decrease the width of dormer it will decrease floor space. The illustration is to show how awkward raising the height of the dormer extension will look. It’s written in plain English but you clearly have issues with comprehension and critical reasoning.
