The US has more people.
Also the USA is far bigger. Much easier to find a compound in the middle of nowhere to isolate and indoctrinate your followers. Quite hard to do that if the only place you can afford is on the outskirts of Stoke.
It’s mainly this. Even the most remote places in the UK is usually only about 5 miles from the nearest town.
Tell that to the Highlands.
This is the answer. It’s fascinating to see how many people are trying to say it’s some sort of social/moral/educational superiority, when the reality is that it has a fraction of the population of the US, so therefore your fringe movements are going to be fractional in comparison to the US.
People in the UK also don't have the same access to guns and large isolated plots of land so there won't really be any big stories about cults stockpiling guns and being raided by the government. Cults do still exist, they just won't be that big and notable.
A fraction is true mathematically 1/5.
People always like to compare Britain with America, they have states that are bigger than the whole of the uk 🙄
Bigger land area does not equal population density, the state of New Jersey - 8723 square miles has about the same population of Greater London - 606 square miles.
And most of the uk is land so there's even less people.
I wonder how it would work out per capita. I’d guess still higher.
Why would you guess rather than check, and then either know or accept that you don't?
You can’t check because there are no public figures but it’s hypothesised that even per capita it is
Estimates 500,000 million UK, 3 to 10 million US

Not ultra reliable numbers, but a "finger in the air".
Interesting
But England has more brains AND its own Church.
